Purchasing - Assembly

Reports To: Purchasing Manager
Position Type: Onsite - Full-time [40 hours per week]
Shift Days: Monday - Friday
Shift Hours: First 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
Hourly Rate: $20 - $25 based on experience

 

Position Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Buyer to join our dynamic procurement team here at Hughes Circuits Inc. In this role, you will support the purchasing process by assisting with supplier management, procurement activities, and inventory control, contributing to our mission to streamline operations and enhance supply chain efficiency. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Source and evaluate suppliers to establish a reliable supplier base
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, negotiating terms, pricing and delivery schedules
  • Conduct market research to identify potential supplies and access capabilities 
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and support company financial goals
  • Coordinate with planning to schedule purchase orders (POs) according to MRP requirements
  • Generate, issue, and process purchase orders accurately using ERP systems
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in forecasting to prevent stockouts or overstock
  • Maintain accurate record of purchases, pricing, and supplier data in ERP systems
  • Communicate with Account and Procurement Managers regarding schedule discrepancies
  • Create PPV (Purchase Price Variance) reports for management approval of cost changes
  • Monitor and update open POs with tracking information, status changes, or issues
  • Manage multiple purchasing projects efficiently and keep documentation organized
  • Follow all company policies and procedures

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or permanent resident 
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively in a team environment 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment 
  • Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting to inform purchasing decisions
  • Knowledge of logistics, production planning, and supply chain management principles

 

Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Experience with ERP systems or procurement management software is a plus
  • Basic understanding of contract management and procurement regulations
